United Nations – A deadly outbreak of the Ebola virus has surfaced in the West African nation of Guinea, with tens of other cases reported in neighbouring countries. Originating in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 1970s, the tropical virus leads to hemorrhagic fever, causing vomiting, diarrhea, and in some cases organ failure and uncontrollable bleeding. The World Health Organisation and UNICEF are on the ground to contain the spread of this lethal virus and to educate those at risk.
